14 year old solves Rubik’s Cube in less than 5 seconds
It probably took you longer to read this sentence than it took 14-year-old Lucas Etter to set a world record.
Guinness World Records confirmed that Etter solved a standard Rubik’s Cube 3x3x3 in under five seconds this past weekend in Baltimore — 4.904 seconds to be precise. The previous record was 5.25 seconds
Etter’s record setting achievement comes just two months after Lexington, Ky. native set a new record for the fastest average time to solve a 2x2x2 Rubik’s Cube with a time of 1.51 seconds in September.
Watching Etter figure out a Rubik’s Cube is almost like watching, The Flash, figure out a Rubik’s Cube.
“To hear that he got a 4.9-second solve, I was amazed really. Just the way his fingers move – it’s incredible” Lucas’ mother Dana told LEX18 News.
Considering how fast he can solve a Rubik’s Cube, it seems like there’s no limit to what he can do or what records he can break.
